Vishay Introduces New 4040 Form Factor Automotive Grade IHLP® Inductors

The device complies with the AEC-Q200 standard, reducing DCR, increasing current handling and increasing inductance.

Recently, Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. announced that it has introduced a new automotive grade IHLP® thin, high current 4040 form factor inductor with a height increase of 5.4 mm. The Vishay Dale IHLP-4040ED-5A inductor reduces DCR, enhances current handling, and increases inductance. It operates continuously at +155 °C and is suitable for use in automotive engine compartment environments.

Devices introduced today are AEC-Q200 compliant, with typical DCRs from 1.05 mΩ to 204.0 mΩ and inductance values from 0.33 μH to 75.0 μH. The device is rated at 36.0 A and can handle high transient current spikes without saturation.

The IHLP-4040ED-5A is suitable for DC/DC converters with a frequency of up to 2MHz. At the same time, these inductors offer excellent noise attenuation in high current filtering applications in the self-resonant frequency (SRF) range. The device operates at high temperatures and is suitable for automotive engines and transmission control units, fuel injection drives, entertainment/navigation systems, and engine noise suppression, wipers, power mirrors and seats, HID and LED lighting, and heating fans.
